You are alive.

As we start this week of thanksgiving, I wanna start out by saying I'm glad to be alive.

I walked outside this morning and felt the cool bite of 32 degrees. I looked up and saw a deep blue November sky with little cottony clouds. I heard the delayed roar of a 747 flying overhead and smelled the cozy smoke from a burning fireplace.

I jumped in my car to start my day and while driving away, I made a stern commitment to myself right then and there to never, ever forget how good that felt when all those senses were alive, alert, breathing and most of all, thankful for all of it.

I got deadlines, I got work, I got people to please and bills to pay.

But by God, I am happy and thankful to be alive.
